Election results are in; Annual Meeting is Saturday, Mar. 23

Clay Electric’s 86th Annual Meeting gathering will be held Saturday, March 23 at the Keystone Heights Junior/Senior High School cafeteria. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and the event will last around 2.5 hours.

The gathering of members will begin with a light breakfast and all adults receiving a door prize ticket and welcome bag.

The meeting will be called to order at 9:30 a.m. and will include the announcement of trustee election results and remarks from the general manager and president of the Board of Trustees. The drawing of door prizes will conclude the gathering. Members must be registered by the start of the meeting to be eligible for door prizes.

Once again, the event is not taking place at the co-op’s headquarters and voting for trustee elections has already taken place by online voting or absentee ballot only. There will be no voting in person.

A total of 13,600 members cast ballots in this year’s trustee elections. Clay Electric’s third-party election vendor, Survey and Ballot Systems, certified the election results on March 13.

The election held Jan. 29-Mar. 11 was for Clay Electric Trustee Districts 3, 5 and 7.

  • For District 3, Incumbent Susan Reeves was elected;
  • For District 5, Incumbent Dewitt Hersey was elected; and
  • For District 7, Incumbent John Henry Whitehead was elected.

Members also voted to approve the restated articles of incorporation, and to amend article 4 section 1 of the bylaws.
