Waste Not Want Not is a volunteer-based group whose mission is to prevent the discarding of food and other items that can be used to fight hunger and poverty. The group does this by rescuing food daily from numerous sources for distribution to local charitable organizations, and through other cost-effective initiatives. Grant funds will be used to support the food rescue and distribution program.
Waldo Area Historical Society, Inc. - $8,000

The Waldo Area Historical Society is a volunteer organization dedicated to preserving Waldo’s past through documenting its people, places and events. Funding from the grant will purchase a scanner and a digital recorder.
Seamark Ranch - $15,000

Seamark Ranch, Inc. (a nonprofit corporation) was organized in Northeast Florida in 2001 to provide a solid Christian home for abused, neglected, abandoned, orphaned, and homeless children in need of a chance. The Ranch is dedicated to an environment filled with grace, love and service which fosters emotional healing in reclaiming the lives of such children. The Ranch's major source of revenue is private contributions. Funds will be used for its 2019-20 Student Jobs program.
Lee Conlee House, Inc. - $15,000

The Lee Conlee House is the certified domestic violence center serving Putnam County. Its mission is to stop the campaign of violence by providing crisis intervention, emergency shelter, advocacy, treatment, prevention, and education through the establishment of community partnerships. Grant funds will be used to support the Children of Hope program, a youth-targeted domestic violence program.
Keystone Heights Sports Association - $11,500

Cross Creek Volunteer Fire Department - $15,000

The Cross Creek Volunteer Fire Department operates exclusively for fire and emergency medical services for the communities of Cross Creek, Island Grove and Lochloosa. Funds from the grant will be applied to equipment enhancements and station improvement.

PACE Center for Girls Clay opened in January 2015 and focuses on the power and potential of girls in Clay County. The program features a balanced emphasis on academics and social services with a focus on the future for middle- and high school-aged girls and young women. Funds will be used to help pay for the programs and interventions needed to help at-risk girls be successful in school, relationships and in the future.
Art League of North Florida/Gateway Art Gallery - $5,000

The Art League of North Florida develops programs and services that serve the needs of artists through advocacy, networking, fundraising and grant development, and promotes the visual arts as an integral part of education. It offers several community art programs, such as the Girls’ Summit for at-risk preteen and teenage girls (with Altrusa), the Veterans’ Art Program, Art for Hospice, and the Life Style Enrichment Center. Funds from the grant will be used to purchase art supplies and materials for these programs.
Magnolia Point Women’s Club - $15,000

The Magnolia Point Women’s Club is a volunteer organization whose mission is to nourish the bodies, stimulate the minds, and increase the self-esteem of Green Cove Springs' neediest and most vulnerable children from elementary through high school. Grant funds will be used to support the Maggie’s Meals program, which will feed 170 children by packing nutritious food in backpacks to send home each Friday during the school year.
Interfaith Emergency Services, Inc. - $10,000

Interfaith Emergency Services provides a full range of services and assistance for individuals and families in need in Marion County. It provides basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and much more to enhance quality of life. Grant funds will be used to support the Food 4 Kids program, which works with 36 local schools to supply nutritious food in backpacks to send home each Friday during the school year.

Funds from the grant will be used to enable four campers to enjoy a week of the camp’s therapeutic programs.

Piece by Peace, a sewing ministry of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ocala, shares love, prayers and hope through hand-sewn items. Its projects include duffel bags for children in child protection, pillowcase dresses for girls in need, adult bibs for nursing/rehab centers, and quilt repairs for domestic violence centers. Grant funds will be used to purchase supplies for the program.

It offers information and referral, options and Medicaid counseling, screening for in-home services, Medicaid eligibility assistance, SHINE Medicare counseling, and a variety of education programs. Grant funds will be used to provide respite care for caregivers of dementia patients so they can attend caregiving training sessions.
Christian Service Center of Columbia County - $7,500

The Christian Service Center of Columbia County is a nonprofit serving the residents of Columbia County since 1984. The Renewed Outreach Center, located in Lake City, exists to bring hope through restoration and transformation by assisting impoverished communities by connecting with leaders to create a higher standard of living through feeding the homeless, providing clothes, education, training, job placement, medical treatment, counseling, shelter for veterans and transitional housing for unwed mothers and those battling addictions. Funding from the grant will go toward renovations and improvements for the food pantry program.
HOPE-Horses Helping People - $14,280

HOPE – Horses Helping People, Inc. is based in Archer and provides equine assisted therapies and learning to children and adults with special needs. Grant funds will be used to fund scholarships to allow clients of all ages to participate.
The House Next Door - $5,000
(Flagler, Volusia counties)
The purpose of The House Next Door, located in DeLand, is to strengthen the entire family unit through education and counseling. All programs embrace and recognize individual and family values, and emphasize the role of parents and the importance of sound family management and parenting skills. Funding from the grant will be used to provide translator services for clients with language barriers.
Habitat for Humanity - $8,510
(Columbia County)
Habitat for Humanity assists low income and very low income families in obtaining decent and affordable housing by building homes using volunteer labor. Money from the grant will be used to purchase construction equipment.
