Business Rates

Clay Electric's business rates are among the most competitive in Florida. Commercial and industrial rates are structured to provide the best possible service at the most competitive price. Surveys throughout 2007 in comparison with other Florida utilities indicate that Clay Electric's business rates are among the lowest in the entire state of Florida. Clay Electric's base rates have not changed since 1992.

Another benefit of service by a non-profit electric cooperative is that each member receives electricity at cost. Revenue that exceeds expenses (margins or Capital Credits) is assigned to the member's account on a prorated basis for refund at a later date. For 34 consecutive years, Clay Electric has refunded Capital Credits to entitled members. $6.25 million was refunded in 2008.
