Contact Your Elected Officials Regarding
Legislation That Could Impact Your Electric Bill
The U.S. Congress and the Florida Legislature are both considering “Climate Change” and "Energy Policy" legislation that could have a serious impact on the amount you pay for electricity in the future. The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) has initiated a campaign called “Our Energy, Our Future: A Dialogue With America” which emphasizes a list of questions to be posed to legislators. Therefore, we encourage you to engage in a dialogue with your state and national elected officials and encourage them to strike a balance between addressing climate change and maintaining affordable electricity.
To assist you in your dialogue, the Our Florida Energy web site is designed for you to send a specific pre-written message to legislators. After completing some reply information, you can submit the pre-written message via email to the state senator and representative serving your district. A similar message of concern will automatically be emailed to Florida’s two U.S. Senators and your U.S. Representative, unless you opt out by un-checking the box at the bottom of the form.
