AMI Data Specialist

Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc., the 8th largest electric cooperative in the nation, located in Keystone Heights, Florida, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of AMI Data Specialist to join our ICT team.  Clay Electric is located in north Florida, with easy access to beaches, outdoor activities and both college sports and NFL.

The individual in the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Data Specialist position, within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department, will have responsibilities that fall into these main areas: 1) Perform day-to-day functions within the AMI, MDM, and CIS systems, including the review of missed meter reads; the review of meter events and alarms; the review of reports identifying meter/meter read issues.  2) Perform analysis of meter related issues, and determine the appropriate course of action to address these issues.  3) Create service orders within the CIS system to further analyze meter related issues, and work towards resolution of these issues.  4) Provide support for identifying additional opportunities to increase value through report development, and meter data analysis.

Essential job functions include:

  • Monitoring. Assist with the monitoring, and response to system messages and alerts.  Carry out workflow processes across the AMI, MDM and CIS systems to achieve resolution to issues generating the alerts and alarms.
  • Reporting. Execute and distribute basic meter data reports to report on daily metrics, and satisfy user requests.
  • Jobs.  Monitor system jobs and batch processes, and report on issues that are identified.
  • Interfaces.  Provide support for testing and monitoring interfaces to and from CEC’s AMI and MDM systems, including testing support for user, web service, and batch interfaces.
  • Environment.  Assist with the operational support for AMI and MDM applications and database environments (including Production, QA, and Test)
  • Troubleshooting.  Provide support for troubleshooting issues in the AMI and MDM systems, including their applications, databases, and associated interfaces.
  • Security.  Assist with the administration of user permissions within the AMI and MDM systems by processing employee assignments to security groups.

Minimum Training and Experience:

This position requires graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree, plus two (2) years of experience providing analysis, support, and maintenance of information and communication dependent systems. Additional job related experience may be substituted for education requirements on a year for year basis.

Individuals in this position must maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

This position requires application support experience, preferably in an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) environment.

Must have experience gathering and documenting requirements.

This position requires experience working with end-users, and performing business analysis.

Experience defining and developing end-user reports with a formal GUI-based reporting tool is a plus.

This position requires development and support experience with SQL database tools (SQL*Plus, SQL*Developer, TOAD, T-SQL, etc.).

Server scripting and server administration is a plus.

Individuals must be able to manage multiple priorities, in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with the MultiSpeak and CIM interface standards is a plus.

This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and designs to both technical and non-technical staff.

This position requires a proven ability to work in a collaborative manner with an extended team of peers to ensure user requirements are fully satisfied.

Lineman

Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc., the 8th largest cooperative in the nation, located in Keystone Heights, Florida, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lineman in the following areas: Lake City District, Gainesville District, Palatka District, Orange Park District, and our Operations department in Keystone Heights. Clay Electric is located in north Florida, with easy access to beaches, outdoor activities and both college sports and NFL.

Individuals in positions allocated to this class perform the most advanced and skilled work required in connection with the construction, maintenance, operations and service of transmission, overhead and underground distribution lines, protective equipment, substations and related equipment owned and operated by the Cooperative.

Essential job functions include:

  • Construction and Maintenance of Power Lines. Install, remove, inspect and maintain both overhead and underground lines and equipment.
  • Switching Operations.  Perform switching operations on energized and de-energized lines and equipment, utilizing the Electric Systems Control Manual, UAI system and all safety precautions.
  • Troubleshooting and Outage Restoration.  Working independently or with others, systematically perform all duties associated with troubleshooting lines and equipment to restore electric service.
  • Operation of Equipment.  Operate construction equipment such as line truck, bucket truck, trenchers and other equipment as required. Comply with all traffic laws and related safety rules and safe work practices.

Minimum Training and Experience  Requirements:

This position requires a high school certificate or State of Florida GED passing grade plus additional training equivalent to Clay Electric's Lineman Development Training Program and four (4) years of experience in an electric distribution utility, preferably through the progression of Apprentice line work. This position also requires a valid Florida Class A commercial driver's license or a Florida Class A restricted commercial driver's license.

Senior Engineer

Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc., located in Keystone Heights, Florida, is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Senior Engineer for the Operational Technology area of the Engineering Services division to perform a variety of technical support functions related to development, implementation, integration, and automation of power delivery technology systems used by cooperative personnel.

Responsibilities:
Persons in this position will administer, customize, and integrate control and support systems hardware, software and databases; create, support, administer and maintain in-house databases, websites, data portals, advanced operation analysis programs, and computer networks; provide project management for communication equipment and systems; create and implement cyber security practices; act as a project manager, team leader, or team member in the development of capital or maintenance projects, technical system improvements, and regulatory compliance programs.

Qualifications:
Persons in this position will have related experience in engineering principles; electric utility operating, testing, or maintenance practices; Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), distribution control systems, cyber security and secure IP routing; data communication systems administration and support.   Advanced proficiency in the Visual Basic programming language is highly desirable.
 
Persons in this position will be able to interact effectively with various CEC work teams, contractors, and with the public; demonstrate good oral and written communication skills; evaluate and implement industry standards; troubleshoot a variety of technical problems; and design, automate, and integrate advanced operation analysis programs.

Education & Experience:
This position requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in electrical, mechanical, or computer science fields plus three and one half (3 ½) years of related experience, one (1) year having been equivalent to the level of Engineer at Clay Electric Cooperative.

Individuals in this position must maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license.
