Helene reached hurricane strength late Wednesday morning as Clay Electric continued its preparations for potential impacts from the storm, which is forecast to make landfall Thursday in Florida as a major hurricane.
Clay Electric has proactively prepared its fleet and other resources. Mutual aid crews from within the state, as well as Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee, have been secured to assist with restoration efforts, which will begin as soon as conditions permit.
Members who are dependent upon electric-powered life-support should consider making arrangements as personnel will restore service as soon as possible, but cannot assure any preferential treatment in this process.
All members should have a plan and a hurricane supply kit. Follow this link for more information.
