Energy Smart Rebate Program

Clay Electric now offers rebates for ceiling insulation and the installation of high efficiency heat pumps, solar water heating systems, window film, attic spray foam insulation, electric hybrid heat pump water heaters and heat recovery units (HRUs). The rebate includes conventional and manufactured homes and small commercial facilities, new and existing. Rebates are paid to Clay Electric members, not contractors.

Applications must be received by the Energy Services Department within 180 days of purchase

Please allow 6-8 weeks for rebate processing. Incomplete or inaccurate applications will either delay payment or result in denial.

One rebate per application. Details for qualification requirements can be reviewed in the individual applications.

I verify that my existing insulation level was less than R30 and has increased to a minimum of R30 or higher (R38 or higher is recommended) and that the insulation covers no less than 500 sq ft of conditioned area. (Unconditioned areas shall not be included).To receive a rebate, the spray foam insulation must be sprayed on the underside of the roofing deck, forming a sealed attic.

Loans are available to help members finance energy efficiency improvements for their homes.

Members can borrow up to $10,000 for improvements such as high-efficiency heat pumps, insulation, certain high-efficiency appliances, generators, high-reflectance metal roofing, solar thermal water heating and solar pool heating.
Basic qualifications for an energy conservation loan include a good credit history, good payment record with Clay Electric and service with Clay Electric for one year. An energy survey is required.
