What does Clay Electric need from me?

Clay Electric will install a net meter. The member/contractor will need to supply:

  • An Interconnection Agreement
  • A Net Meter Application
  • ≥ 10kW requires $1,000,000 active property/personal liability insurance (a copy of the policy is required for Tiers 2 and 3)
  • PV Panel information
  • Inverter information
  • a line diagram of electrical connections and system specifications (panels, inverters, etc.)
  • a county permit
  • a manual single-throw, lockable disconnect between the inverter and the home’s electrical service, located outside and accessible to Clay Electric (preferably next to the utility meter)

RGS/Solar systems are allowed to be sized up to 90 percent of the Service Entrance rating.

50kW systems and larger will require pre-approval to install. Proposed system drawings will need to be evaluated and approved by our engineering personnel to determine safe operations to the specific location on the grid.
