What does Clay Electric need from me?
Clay Electric will install a net meter. The member/contractor will need to supply:
- An Interconnection Agreement
- A Net Meter Application
- ≥ 10kW requires $1,000,000 active property/personal liability insurance (a copy of the policy is required for Tiers 2 and 3)
- PV Panel information
- Inverter information
- a line diagram of electrical connections and system specifications (panels, inverters, etc.)
- a county permit
- a manual single-throw, lockable disconnect between the inverter and the home’s electrical service, located outside and accessible to Clay Electric (preferably next to the utility meter)
RGS/Solar systems are allowed to be sized up to 90 percent of the member's Utility Service Entrance rating or the Cooperative’s transformer kVA rating, whichever is less at the location. (Specified within paragraph #10 of the Interconnection Agreement.)
20kW systems and larger will require pre-approval prior to installing your RGS/Solar system. Proposed system drawings will need to be evaluated and approved by Clay Electric engineering personnel to determine safe operations to the specific location on the grid. Clay Electric will not upgrade the utility grid simply to accommodate oversized RGS/Solar systems for distribution generation.
