Members of the co-op will gather at three trustee district meetings this month for the purpose of selecting candidates for the co-op’s board of trustees. Members who live in Districts 3, 5 and 7 are invited to attend the meetings and vote. You can determine your trustee district by looking at your electric bill statement.

Due to COVID-19, the meetings will be shortened to avoid prolonged gathering. Dinner will not be provided and a year-in-review video will not be shown so the nomination process can be as short as possible. Employees and members will be required to wear masks at all times.

• John Henry Whitehead is the trustee for District 7. The meeting will be held Monday, Jan. 11 at the Lake Butler Community Center, 155 NW 3rd St., Lake Butler, FL 32054.
• Susan Reeves is the trustee for District 3. The meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Windsor Baptist Church, 918 SE County Road 234, Gainesville, FL 32641.
• Dewitt Hersey is the trustee for District 5. The meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 14 at Belle Oakes Barn, 11800 SW 157th Lane, Brooker, FL 32622.

Registration of members begins at 5:30 p.m. The meetings begin at 6 p.m.

Each year, three positions on the co-op’s nine-member board of trustees are up for election. Members within the respective districts select one or two members to be candidates for the board of trustees. These candidates are voted upon by all members during the Annual Meeting election period. Absentee ballots will be available on request starting Jan. 19.
